I create contemporary textile artworks which explore colour, light and pattern. My work ranges from large scale banners to framed compositions and small intimate wall pieces. These vibrant and intriguing pieces are suitable for public and domestic spaces and have been shown in corporate settings and commissioned for hospitals and domestic interiors.

I work with hand-dyed textiles to create intense hues by layering and bonding the translucent fabrics. The pieces are hand-cut with intricate patterns and adorned with hand stitch. Often multilayered, my textile pieces incorporate cut, suspended and stitched sections to give movement, detail and depth.

Light is very important to the work, often informing an inspiration or starting point and always influencing the viewing of the work, creating shadows and interaction between the layers.

The instinctive colour statements I create evoke perceptions of time, feeling and place. They explore the rhythms and patterns of nature, as well as changes in light and colour, inspired by my local river in London, the shorelines of Britain and travels in Latin America. I am particularly fascinated by moments of revelation and transition, a conscious understanding of a new way of seeing things changing light, changing colour, changing reality.
